Joseph Betty;
As a young artist Joseph attended Edna Manley School of Arts and Drama, where he studied art in fine metal and later was given an amazing opportunity to work with German goldsmith master Ralf Bender. Later on he completed his studies at Jamaica College as a sociologist.
At the age of 22, he migrated to the Cayman Islands, to pursue his career as a goldsmith and a metal artisan. As well as his goldsmith career, he followed his calling as a poet and writer and become a successful published author. He had published " Moments in Life" a poetry book, and the children's book " Daddy What's a Success?" o f which he is one of the authors and illustrator for the book. In the very near future his latest children's book" Ching-Ching Pirate" will be available to public.
He was the the founding director of "Colors For Outreach", a non-profit organization giving art therapy for the old and challenged people, and also a Facilitator for National Gallery Art Outreach programs, as well as volunteer on most of their projects. In 2006 he worked with " 20th century Fox" ; whilst they were filming the "Haven" movie, he worked in their art department, on their props, and one of his paintings was used in the movie.
As a painter, he has had 4 solo exhibitions, and participated in many group shows, his paintings are in the public collections of the Cayman Islands Museum and The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands he has exhibited in USA, Canada, England and Bahamas , where he has many collectors
